Machash Projects
Magdeline currently runs a soup kitchen in an area called Windmill Park. This region is plagued with poverty, unemployment, and alcohol and drug abuse. The soup kitchen is a great relief for those who go hungry every day due to their circumstances.
The kitchen runs its operation with one sponsor that supplies veggies.
Weekly they see an influx of children and parents amounting to well over 600 per day.
Magdeline has worked for many years in the corporate field.
She always felt for her community and the burdens they bear, and has such passion for the wellness of others. This usually comes at her own expense and people know her to always sacrifice her own comfort for others.
After nearly 20 years in the profession as a credit controller, she called it a day and exchanged the pens, books, and her office for the kitchen, cooking, and serving our community.
Motherhood
On top of that Magdeline finds time to be a mother. She adopted a child when she was still an infant. Magdeline knew the child had a disability and speech impediment, meaning her development would be slower than that of a neurotypical child. Did this change her mind? Did she walk away and say, no this would be too much work? No, she gladly volunteered.
Today her daughter, a bright and beautiful young lady, is 8 years old and going to school.
We praise and celebrate this incredible person. Well done to this woman, for her accomplishment as a pioneer of change and transformation in communities and for her heart and fierce spirit to see and contribute to change!
Lend a hand
Most of the labour hours for the kitchen are contributed by volunteers in her team. Sometimes they slave away, for hours, preparing meals for children and assisting families, with catering, who have lost loved ones. And they never ask for anything in return.
Our prayer, desire, and appeal is to bring awareness to this gem in the heart of Windmill park.
Your support, assistance, and gift of love in any shape or form can change lives.
The current shortfall for Machash Projects includes catering equipment: Pots / Pans / Burners / Toiletries
Satori Transformation has been a sponsor in this dynamic effort and will continue partnering with her vision and intention. Satori is a firm believer that in contributing to change, you change as a person.
